SANFORD MAYNOR
LUMBERTON — Sanford Maynor, 94, of 116 Warwick Mill Road, Lumberton, peacefully went to his heavenly home on April 13, 2021, at Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton, surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Henderson, and father, Sim Maynor; his beloved wife, Mrs. Joyce Hunt Maynor; a daughter, Anita Jane Maynor; a grandson, Gary Wayne Maynor Jr.; three sisters, Elsie Jacobs, Senora Henderson and Anniebelle Locklear; three brothers, Alford Henderson, Willie J. Locklear and Warner Tom Henderson; and a son-in-law, James Allen.
Mr. Maynor leaves behind to cherish his memories a son, Gary Wayne Maynor (Regenia) of Lumberton; five daughters, Dorothy McLamb (Roy) of Linden, Wanda Allen of Saginaw, Michigan, Betty Arthur (Bill) of Spearfish, South Dakota, Sharon Casto (Ed) of Erwin, and Kimberly Emanuel (Junior) of Red Springs; two sisters, Rency Godwin and Polly Stewart; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton, with Rev. Manford Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton, prior to the funeral.
