He was born Nov. 13, 1953 in Robeson County, to the late Aaron Hunt and the late Nolear Bell Locklear Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.

Mr. Tommie is survived by his wife, Doris Lowery Hunt of the home; a son, Jason Hunt (Alicia) of Pembroke; a daughter, Chasity Oxendine of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a brother, Gary Hunt of Fairmont; two sisters, Marlene Coleman, and Patricia Reinhart, both of Baltimore, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Abigail Evelyn Carter, Jadon Avery Hunt, Cara Madison Hunt, Chaylee Kaydence Wainwright, Driston Cole Deese, Peyten Jace Jones, Torrien Chaylea Jones, and Michael Wainwright Locklear; a great-grandchild, Zayd Vincent Carter; a special niece, Stephanie Jacobs; and a host of niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3764 N.C. 711 Lumberton. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Randy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery
