Mr. Tommie Hunt, age 69, of Fairmont, NC passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at UNC Health Southeastern Lumberton, NC.
He was born November 13, 1953 in Robeson County, NC to the late Aaron Hunt and the late Nolear Bell Locklear Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.
Mr. Tommie is survived by his wife, Doris Lowery Hunt of the home; one son, Jason Hunt (Alicia) of Pembroke, NC; one daughter, Chasity Oxendine of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Gary Hunt of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Merlene Coleman and Patricia Reinhart, both of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Abigail Evelyn Carter, Jadon Avery Hunt, Cara Madison Hunt, Chaylee Kaydance Wainwright, Driston Cole Deese, Peyten Jace Jones, Torrien Chaylea Jones, and Michael Wainwright Locklear; one great grandchild, Zayd Vincent Carter; a special niece, Stephanie Jacobs; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church 3764 NC Hwy. 711 Lumberton, NC. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery.
