William Jones
LUMBERTON — William "Bill" Thomas Jones, 62, of Lumberton, formerly of Fairmont, went home to be with his Eternal Father on Dec. 2, 2013, at Southeastern Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion's Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Rev. Robert Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at the Roberts family Cemetery.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1951, the son of the late Alfred and Mollie Jones. He was formerly employed as a mechanic for LOF Glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry A. Jones of Fairmont.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice Roberts Jones of the home; his daughter Nicole Palmer and husband Eric of Pensacola, Fla.; his son, Matthew of the home, and special friend, Jessica Davis; two grand-dogs, Shiloh and Jake; two sisters, Susan Cooke and husband Jerry of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patsy Baker and husband Tom of Conway, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Vestal and husband Larry of Kernersville, and Rachel Russell and husband James of Lumberton; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Roberts and wife Linda of Lumberton; along with many special nieces and nephews and friends throughout his life.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc.
