Donald "Donny" Russell Maylott, 66 years old, raised in Thompsonville, Conn., and current resident of Denver, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, around 10:45 p.m. at Logansport Memorial Hospital with his loving wife, Marilyn Maylott, by his side. He would have been 67 years old this coming Sunday.
He was born Sept. 19, 1954, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. He was the son of the late Russell Maylott and Micheline Maylott. Donald is survived by his wife, Marilyn Maylott of Denver; son Jeremy Maylott of Lafayette; daughter Jasmine Maylott of Altoona, Iowa; stepsons Devin McWhorter of Muncie and Dylan McWhorter of Peru; five grandchildren, Haylie Grimm, Arianna Badore, Kinley McWhorter, Barettson McWhorter, and Everly McWhorter; and by his five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Micheline and Russell Maylott.
Donald had been a journeyman electrician for Tech Trades of Indianapolis, and had worked for M.P. Baker Electric, Lafayette. He was a true Renaissance man and enjoyed many hobbies including his current project of remodeling his home. There wasn't a skill he didn't have or couldn't learn, he truly wanted to do it all and he did. He married the true love of his life, his wife Marilyn, on Oc. 30, 2016 in Agawam, Mass. They were together for 12 years and would have celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary this October.
Donny is remembered by his family and friends as a hardworking and kind man, passionate and loud, devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather. He was an amazing cook and baker who would always make his children's and grandchildren's birthday cakes from scratch each year. He had always gone out of his way to ensure his family had everything they could ever want or need no matter the cost. To him, family was everything, and his children along with his grandchildren were his greatest accomplishment in life. He truly was the center of his family's universe and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Private services for the family and close friends will be observed. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. If desired, friends and family may make flower contributions or funeral donations to the family directly. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com.

Not a day goes by that lessens the hell your death left. You were the best Father a daughter could have ever asked for. I wish you could be here to see your granddaughters grow up, you would be so proud of them. I love you Dad, always and forever. Happy 70th Birthday.
