Samuel MacLain Obituary
Samuel "Buck" Eugene MacLain, 83, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully Feb. 20, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Samuel served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1988, retired as a First Sergeant, and served in Korea, Germany, Hawaii and Georgia.
He loved golfing, bowling, fishing, playing Cribbage, and he loved to read and enjoyed going to the casino. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Samuel is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alpha Juanita MacLain; father Hughie MacLain, mother Mildred Conley, son Shane MacLain, and sisters Beverly Geller and Joyce Frazier.
Samuel is survived by his daughter Kimberli (Adam) Weston; sisters Virginia Burkholder, and Karen Liedtky; brothers Paul (Betty) MacLain, Doug (Kay) MacLain and Michael (Michelle) MacLain; stepmother Rose MacLain; grandchildren Jessica West, Scott Allen and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby "Sassy."
