Eldon W. Redinger, 73, formerly of Rochester, passed on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, after living there a year and a half.
Eldon Redinger was born Feb. 11, 1952, in Rochester, Indiana, to Charles Wayne Sr. and Pauline Bernice (Shriver) Redinger. A graduate of Rochester High School, On Dec. 26, 1980, he married Linda Lou Redinger in Rochester, and together they shared many treasured years until her passing on Dec. 22, 2023.
Eldon dedicated over a decade to Culver Military Academy, where he served as a maintenance supervisor before retiring. He found joy in life's simple pleasures – bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, and mushroom hunting – and had a deep love for animals. A passionate collector, he took great interest in buying, selling and trading guns.
As he transitioned to life at Peabody, Eldon's resilience and determination remained steadfast. His unwavering spirit not only shaped his own journey but also served as an inspiration to both staff and fellow residents. Yet, above all else, his greatest happiness was found at home, where he and Linda shared their time together.
He is survived by a daughter Deanna Adams and Eric Cauffman of North Manchester; son Vincent and wife Hope Redinger of Etna Green; mother Pauline Redinger of Rochester; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother Charles Wayne Redinger Jr. of Indianapolis.
Eldon was preceded in death by his father, wife, and a son Jamie Redinger.
Following his wishes, no visitation or services will be held.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
