James Ziegler Obituary

James Ziegler, aged 75, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2025.

Born Sept. 5, 1950, in North Dakota, James was a lifelong resident of Rochester and a proud graduate of Rochester High School, and later, Ball State University.

Known for his thoughtful and charitable nature, James was deeply involved in sports, enjoyed writing poetry and was a regular attendee of church services. His kind-heartedness and generous spirit touched many lives within and beyond his community.

James's legacy is carried on by his children James Ziegler, Joey Ziegler, Jade Ziegler, Dianne (Caleb) Collis, Michael (Catherine) Ziegler, and Paul (Elisa) Ziegler, along with his 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys (Rodger) Macy, Dianne Ziegler, and Carmen (Fred) Kaouk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Rose Ziegler.

A private celebration of life service will be held for family members. James's life exemplified kindness and community involvement, and his memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

– 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
