Miles L. Nellans, 72, of Warsaw, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Miles was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Rochester to the late Frank and Wilma (Sponseller) Nellans. He married Susie Zent on June 8, 2009. She survives.
Miles was a 1969 graduate of Mentone High School and went on to attend Purdue and Vincennes universities. He was raised on the family farm and enjoyed farming in the Mentone area for 15 years. He went to work at ChoreTime Brock until his retirement in 2007.
Miles enjoyed antique tractors, working with his sawmill and being a member of Echoes of the Past. He had a passion for woodworking and carving and made many beautiful items that he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people and made friends wherever he went. He and Susie enjoyed spending their winters in Southern Texas for several years.
He is survived by his wife Susie; daughter Melissa (Tim) Baca of Denver, Colo.; son Eric (Tina) Nellans of Mentone; stepchildren, Marisa (Kyle) Brooks and Scott Jones; four grandchildren, Lee Nellans, Nicholas Baca, Hudson Brooks, Lilli Brooks; and a brother, Gale (Yvette) Nellans of Tucson, Ariz.
Miles was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Visitation will be3-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Josh Weiland will officiate. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to Wawasee Community Bible Church, 2035 E. 1300 North, Milford, IN 46542.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford. Condolences may be left for the family at www.mishler fhcc.com.
