I just came in knowledge of Mr Benson Plunkett´s passing this evening, Feb 28th. I am crushed I missed his funeral and missed partaking in acknowledgments. He was my junior high & high school principal. I had a very special love for Mr. Plunkett. I was the first graduating class from Heritage High School. He had a very dry sense of humor & often times would make a joke with the most straightest face!! (Heart) He had lots of compassion & concern for me & my siblings in what we were experiencing at home. He saved my brother from severe trouble & always kept me in prayer & concern. I went on to college and became an educator as well. After teaching in Fulton County Schools a few years, I received a phone after school. In his sneaky joking manner, he posed as an IRS agent pretending to accuse me of not paying my taxes. I became petrified & began to stutter & he burst out laughing saying this is Benson Plunkett. I screamed, "MR. PLUNKETT, WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO ME??!!" LOL He proceeded to ask me if I would consider leaving Fulton Schools to come teach at his school. I was so honored & excited!! I said sure!! He later became my boss as he hired me to teach at CJ Hicks Elementary. A few years later they transferred him to head of transportation so I couldn´t stand the thought of teaching at that school without him being my boss so I left & went back to Fulton Schools where I retired some 33 years later! RIP Mr Plunkett!! Thank you so much for all you did for me in my life & the compassion & concern you showed me & my siblings. MUCH LOVE!!!

Friends and family of Benson's - I'm truly sorry for your loss. I only knew one member of Benson's family, and that was Nell-Ann. She and I were classmates at Conyers High - Class of 1949. Nell-Ann was a beautiful lady. Farewell, Benson. I enjoyed knowing you.
