Fritz Wood Obituary


Mr. Fritz Logue Wood of Conyers, Georgia went home to be with his Savior on October 8, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years: F. Miriam Wood; son and daughter-in-law: J. Troy and Linda Wood of Covington, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law: A. Patricia and Gordon Simpson of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; sister: Nyra Langhan of Warrenton, Georgia; brothers: Arnold Wood and William Wood both of Warrenton, Georgia and Luke Wood of Henderville, North Carolina, four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Mr. Wood served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of Milstead Baptist Church. Mr. Wood was a 32 degree Mason for 58 years and member of Zingara Masonic Lodge in Conyers, Georgia. In August 1979 he retired from the Federal Prison System where he worked as an Industrial Manager. The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 2-4PM and 6-9PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Carver and Rev. Harold Thompson will officiate the services. Interment will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Newborn, Georgia. Friends may sign the on-line registry at: www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
