Larry Cundick Obituary
Larry Ray "Buck" Cundick 1953- 2025 Larry Ray "Buck" Cundick was born January 8,1953, in Ely, Nevada. He left this earth and entered the arms of the lord on August 28, 2025, from the comfort of his home resting in the embrace of his loving wife, Rosalynn Cundick.
Larry, whom those closest to him call him "Buck", grew up in the small town of Ruth, NV, where he would spend his days hunting critters (small and large), fishing, and enjoying time with his siblings. He graduated high school in 1971 from White Pine High School. Once out of high school he began his career working in the Kennecott Nevada Mines Division. He continued that career path when he moved to Oregon to work in the sawmills and later in the Hannah Nickel Mine Division. In his early twenties, he enjoyed taking long runs and developed a passion for big river fishing. Though only in Oregon for a short time, Larry often spoke of returning there one day.
In 1980, at the age of 27, he made his move to Rock Springs, Wyoming where he secured a job as a laborer on a construction crew for the new Jim Bridger/PacificCorp Power Plant installation. After construction was completed, he was hired full-time as a Mechanic/Fabricator where he would assist in fabricating/servicing all things attributed to maintaining the plant and keeping things in order and running smooth. It was here at PacificCorp that he met many of his lifelong friends. He would later retire from PacificCorp after 33 great years of service.
While living in Rock Springs, WY, Larry would meet his loving wife Rosalynn "Ross" Cundick during a chance encounter in Jackson Hole, WY. The two were inseparable from that point forward. Buck was a fantastic dance partner; he and his wife would take time to teach country dance lessons to locals in the area while enjoying some social time without kids.
Buck spent much of his free time outdoors searching for arrowheads, fishing with his wife, hunting with his family and friends, and putting his talents to canvas. He loved spending time on his artwork, whether it be doodling, painting, or most recently, pencil sketches. It was something he mastered over the years, and he was amazing at it. Buck's artwork lives on beyond his death and can be enjoyed on his Facebook page that will remain active.
After retirement from PacificCorp, Buck and Ross moved to Oregon where he had once created fond memories of the countryside and the rivers that flow there. He was eager to catch a few wild salmon and try his hand at sturgeon fishing; both of which he was successful at. He continued to work for a short time as the manager of the Copco Hydro Plant on the Klamath River in nearby Hornbrook, CA, but later hung his working boots up permanently. The couple began spending time traveling and wintering in Arizona with family and friends. This is where Buck's love for golf blossomed. He was obsessed with it, and he picked up the game very quickly. If you knew him, he was quite the study and loved to read. Buck and Ross eventually settled into their quiet house in Mountain Home, ID, where they would golf and spend time volunteering at the local Elks Lodge #2276 before he fell ill with lung cancer. While fighting the disease, Buck reintroduced himself to Jesus and the gospel.
