William "Bill" Mivshek 1936- 2021 William "Bill" Mivshek, 85, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Covenant Village in Arvada, Co.
Born March 16, 1936 to Jerry and Annie Mivshek in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bill was a graduate of Rock Springs High School class of 1954. After graduation, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. While serving Bill obtained an autograph from Elvis and was a life-long Elvis fan.
He married Jennie Magagna from Superior, Wy. in 1960. They had two sons, Joseph Anthony and Richard Adolph. Sadly Jennie passed away in 1972 from Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
At an All School Class Reunion in 1990, Bill reconnected with MaryAnn Havrilo. They were married May 11, 1991 in Estes Park, Co. Bill and MaryAnn relocated to Arvada, Co. and loved to host family gatherings.
Bill was a resident of Rock Springs for 55 years and worked for the US Postal Service for nearly 37 of those years. During his time in Rock Springs Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family. He requested that some of his ashes be spread on the Hoback River, a favorite fishing spot, north of Pinedale, Wy.
Bill is survived by his wife MaryAnn of Arvada, Colorado; one sister Geraldine (Jeri) Green and husband Rodney of Springfield, Virginia, two sons Joe Mivshek and wife Kristin of Fort Collins, Colorado, Rich Mivshek and wife Renae of Rock Springs, Wyoming, three step-daughters, Brenda Roberts and husband Ken of Petaluma, California, Lynnae Flora and husband Mathew of Lakewood, Colorado, and Monique Gilstrap and husband Richard of Arvada, Colorado, grandchildren Cody Mivshek of Austin, Texas, Austin Mivshek and wife Jenna of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Amanda Harkins and husband Brent of Denver, Colorado, Karlee Tremelling and husband Dawson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Lexi and Kylie Mivshek of Fort Collins, Colorado, step-grandchildren Emily, Nadia and Paul Flora of Lakewood, Colorado, Logan Savage, Nicolete and Kenny Roberts of Petaluma, California.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings; Anne Storer, Jerry Mivshek, Jack Mivshek and Mary (Mitzi) Burch.
At Bill's request, cremation will take place with a graveside service in Rock Springs, Wyoming at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be contributed to the
Alzheimer's Association or the
charity of your choice.
