Jerry Sherman Obituary

Jerry Allen Sherman, 64, of Broadway, passed away February 28, 2025 at his cabin in Mathias, WV. He was born July 1, 1960 in Harrisonburg and was a son to the late Freddie and Anna Corbin Sherman. Jerry retired after 46 years as a loader/operator for George's Food. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his cabin. On March 27, 1982 he married the former Kathy Hilbert, who survives. Also surviving are a son; Jeremy Sherman, of Ft. Defiance, a daughter; Amanda Sherman, of Broadway, two brothers; Randy Sherman and wife Carolyn, of Bergton, Jeff Sherman, of Tenth Legion, two sisters-in-law; Deborah Tate, of Timberville, Pam Sherman, of Harrisonburg, a step sister-in-law; Tammy Crider, of Timberville, a brother-in-law; Eddie Hilbert and wife Joann, of Broadway, his mother-in-law; Velma Crider, of Broadway and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister; Peggy Taylor and a brother; Danny Sherman. Pastor Sandra Cave will conduct a memorial service 2 PM Wednesday at the Timberville Community Center, 233 McCauley Ave., Timberville, VA. Per Jerry's request, his body will be cremated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Fellowship Church- Building Fund in care of Sandra Cave, 14735 N Mountain Rd, Broadway, VA 22815 or the Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA, P.O. Box 413, Harrisonburg, VA 22803.
