Willard Lee Moubray

Willard Lee Moubray, 75, of Harrisonburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Mr. Moubray was born on March 24, 1950 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late James Willard Moubray and Margie Marie Reedy Moubray. He was employed as a maintenance technician for Koontz Realty, Mosby Heights Apartments and then with the Forestry Department until he retired. After retiring, he went back to work in maintenance, but this time, working alongside his brother. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars. Though he loved all animals, he especially took joy in raising rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and ducks. On April 15, 1972, he married the former Lula "Carol" Lambert. They shared almost 42 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on March 24, 2014. Surviving family members include two sons, Ricky Shifflett and James "Erik" Moubray; two daughters, Shannon McNeal and husband, Bryan and Shari Shifflett; two brothers, Keith Moubray and wife, Linda and Roy Eugene Moubray and wife, Linda; one sister, Carolyn Newman and husband, Jim; six grandchildren, Kimberly Shifflett, Ricky Wayne Shifflett, Rebecca Moubray, Stephanie Hoover, Nicholas "Nick" Hoover and Megan McCall; four great-grandchildren, Destiny Moats, Maverick Moubray, Kylen Mann and Lexie Richards and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Moubray; one sister, Peggy Moubray and one great-granddaughter, Clara Gibson. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Ted Hott officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Willard's name to Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center, 2008 Health Campus Dr, Harrisonburg, VA 22801, UVA Health Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, 1240 Lee St, Charlottesville, VA 22903, Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA, 2170 Old Furnace Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
