Arthur Freeman Bunting Rocky Mount - Arthur Freeman Bunting, 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away July 15th 2023 at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born to the late Bunn Arrington and Daisy Freeman Bunting on August 2nd, 1937 in Nash County. Arthur went to school at Nashville High School, and then proceeded to work for Standard Electric in Rocky Mount for many years. He was also a farmer on the family farm, a store owner out on Taylor's Store Rd, and a sand and gravel truck driver, most recently for GN Langley Trucking until just 5 years ago.
But not before he met the love of his life, Vivian Langley, and the high school sweethearts married in November of 1957. They were rarely apart in their over 62 years of marriage, until the Lord took Vivian home to be with Him in 2019. Dad missed her ever day since. We are rejoicing that Dad is not only with Jesus, but now will see Mom again.
Together they raised a family of 3 children outside of Nashville, and Dad especially was a jack of all trades! He could fix anything!! He loved joking and talking with everyone he met, and he will surely be missed. But the most important thing Dad ever did in his life was accept and acknowledge that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Because of this decision, we have the hope that one day we will see him again. We pray that you have this hope also! Please contact us at
www.englewoodbaptist.com if you have any questions about how you can have this hope too!!
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Nancy Bunn Bunting, of Nashville. Three children and their spouses: Libby & Dean Caviness of Nashville; Lynne and James Taylor of Zebulon, and Art and Catherine Bunting of Stafford, VA. And the apples of Papa's eye!!
Heath Caviness, Lyndsey Taylor, Brandon Bunting, Lauren Bunting Simpson (Tyler), D.J. Caviness, Abby Taylor, and Gracey Taylor. And his first great-grandchild!! Presley Ray Simpson.
Thanks so much to all of you who have prayed for Dad's health over the last few years!! And to the many doctors, nurses, and support staff that have given your time and talent for his comfort. You are truly God sent!
The funeral will take place in the chapel at Cornerstone Funeral Home 11 am Thursday, July 20th. We will then move to burial at the cemetery of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Taylor's Store Rd, Nashville. Visitation will follow in the sanctuary of Philadelphia Baptist Church immediately after the burial.
Psalms:148 tells us to Praise HIM!! In all things, both here on earth and in heaven, as that is what we will be doing when we get there. We Praise You Lord! And we thank You for a Daddy like Arthur!
We will see you in the sweet by and by Dad!!
