Blanche English

Blanche Brogdon English Blanche Brogdon English, 101, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008.  She was born April 29, 1907 in Edgecombe County to the late Edward Vander and Matha Dudley Brogdon.  Blanche was a long time member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jefferson English, grandson, Timothy Edward English and sisters, Ruby Rose and Bertha Hines. She is survived by son, Edward English and wife, Shirley; daughters, Jean Ayers and husband, Fred, Brenda Womble and husband, Jim all of Rocky Mount ; grandchildren, Kim Jernigan and husband, Tony of Greensboro, Cathy Clark and husband Allen of Morganton, Ken English and wife, Wanda of Ackworth, GA, Susan Davis and husband, Hank of Wilmington, Jason Young and wife, Leigh of Morrisville, Craig Womble and wife, Gwendy of Morehead City; great grandchildren, Kelly Jernigan, Ross Jernigan, Ava Clark, Emme Clark, Chase English, Liam English and Jackson Young.  The family would like to extend a special heart felt thanks to the staff of Autumn Care of Nashville for the care of Mrs. English.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Keith Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.  Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church; 1217 Bethlehem Rd.
