Frederick Nelms Obituary

Frederick Wayne Nelms,74, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015. He was born in Nash County on June 15, 1940 to the late Buck and Alma Davis Nelms. He was also known as the "Hog Man" and his famous quote "Its a struggle for survival". Wayne is survived by his wife Edna C. Nelms of 54 years; daughters, Regina Nelms Leggins (Bobby), Tampa Nelms Cooper (Steve), Amy Nelms Beasley (Keith); grandchildren, Brooke Sykes, Lindsey Shearin (Mitchell), Tyler Leggins, Devan and Gabe Cooper; great grandchildren, Macon Shearin, Chandler Sykes. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations with Rev. Mitchell Shearin officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:30 prior to the service. Burial will be private at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
