Malcolm Perry Obituary

GOLDSBORO - Mr. Malcolm Glenn Perry Sr., 84, of 129 Perry Drive went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at his home. Mr. Perry was born in Franklin County on Aug. 24, 1921, to the late Richard Redding Perry and Alma Wheeles Perry. He was the former owner of Goldsboro Builder"s Supply and Perry Concrete Co. and founder of Builders Discount Center. Mr. Perry was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army. For those who knew him, Malcolm will be remembered by his charm, quick wit and his smile. He will be missed by many. The love in Malcolm"s life was family, friends and work. If Malcolm ever got the opportunity to brag about his grandchildren, he always took that opportunity. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Billy Olsen and the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Graveside services will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hilda Grissom Perry; his daughters, Wanda Perry Ohm and husband Stacey of Raleigh and Donna Perry Mercer and husband John of Goldsboro; his son, Malcolm Glenn Perry Jr. of Rocky Mount; and his grandchildren, Stephen and Michelle Ohm, Danny and Summer Langston, Lexi Mercer and Jordan, Trey and Lauren Perry. He is also survived by two special people, Mary Perry Hunt and Ricky Jones. Memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 S. U.S. 581, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to Home, Health and Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
