Martin Pittman Obituary
A native of the Stantonsburg-Saratoga communities in Wilson County, he resided in the Rocky Mount Area for the past ten years.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Pittman Bullard; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pittman Finch, Esley Breland, Jesse Bullard, and Kaleb Bullard; a great-grandchild, Allie Finch, all of Rocky Mount; his sister, Bethanne Matari of Atlanta, GA; his brothers, Randy Pittman of Wynnewood, PA, and Robbie Pittman of Cullowhee, NC.
Martin was a gentle soul who found contentment in planting flowers, tending them, and seeing the beauty of God's creation in them.
A memorial service will be held at the Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount at noon on Saturday, July 26. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to his service. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Rd., Rocky Mount.

Everyone who knew Martin understood that he was filled with a giving and generous spirit. Even during his long struggle with health issues, he made time to give back to the community. The Villa Place Community Garden on Grace St. in Rocky Mount, which he designed and maintained as a volunteer, stands as a permanent testimony to his good works. I am grateful to have known Martin, and he will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for the family's loss. I am a cousin of Martin, though we were not close. Last year at the family reunion, I had the opportunity to spend a little time with him. This turned out to be a nice experience and I was looking forward to seeing him this year. My thoughts are with you. Lib
