Michael Mewborn Obituary
SWANSBORO - Michael Ward Mewborn, 36, passed away Wednesday October 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1981 in Greenville, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Church on the Rise, 3520 Bishop Rd. Rocky Mount NC 27804. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Michael graduated from Northern Nash Senior High School, East Carolina University, and Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Tampa, FL. After his education he started as an Asst. District Attorney for Onslow County, and then went on to be the Attorney for Department of Social Service for Onslow County. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by high school sweatheart who became his loving wife, Heather Gallion Mewborn of the home; daughter, Campbell Mewborn of the home; parents, Wardell and Judy Mewborn of Hubert; maternal grandmother, Jean Creech of New Bern; father and mother in law, Joe and Donna Gallion of Nashville; brother in law, Brandon Gallion of Nashville; aunt Bobbi Creech; and uncle, Jerry Creech.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Education Fund for Campbell Mewborn, c/o State Employees Credit Union, and deposits may be made at any SECU location.

Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro.

I am so sorry to hear about Michael! He was in my 4th grade class in Rocky Mount. He was such a sweet and hard working student. I will always remember him! Prayers are with all of you.
