Patricia Rogers Obituary
ROCKY MOUNT - Patricia Abbott Rogers, 78, passed away August 31, 2025 after a courageous battle with dementia. She was born June 29, 1947 to the late Frederick and Mary Abbott. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Rogers; sister Mary Lou Bateman. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. As a steward of the community, Patricia served proudly as a Boy Scouts Den Mother as well as served many hot dogs at Babe Ruth League Baseball. When Tommy passed away, Patricia filled his Town Council Seat and successfully won re-election of her seat when his term ended.
Patricia is survived by her sons Grant Rogers (Lovey), Patrick Rogers (Amber); grandchildren Miller and McKenna Rogers, Lauren and Cameron Mizell; several great grandchildren; brother Frederick Abbott Jr. (Debbie); sister June Boyd; several nieces and nephews.
The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount and to Hospice of Wilson for the incredible loving care.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Monday, September 8, 2025 with the memorial service following at 6:00pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wilson, 1901 Tarboro St. Suite 301 Wilson, NC 27893.
