William Brantley Obituary

ROCKY MOUNT - William "Bill" Bunn Brantley, age 70, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Brazos County, TX on December 8, 1947, he was the son of the late William Oscar Brantley and Mavis Bunn Brantley.

Bill graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College and East Carolina University. He started Bunn-Brantley Enterprises with his uncle, Benjamin Bunn. Bill was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was active in raising awareness of adaptive methods for allowing people with handicaps to enjoy everyday life. Bill loved to go fishing, watch golf, and tell jokes. He was a loving husband, father, Pop, Bah, and Bill-Bah. Bill will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 23 years, Patricia "Pat" Malone Brantley; his four children, Melissa Mayberry and husband Mike, of North Augusta, SC, Amanda Turner and husband Mike, of Goldsboro, George Collins and wife Lindsey, of Jacksonville, and Richard Collins and wife Nicole, of Nakina. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Zac Vaughan, Christopher Turner, Nealie Turner, Ella Collins, Silas Collins, Laura Collins, Rynn Collins, and Sam Collins; siblings, Beth Yoak and husband Chuck, Bob Brantley and wife Sharon, David Brantley and wife Becky; aunt, Joyce Bunn; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 505 S. Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Ike Daniel and Bill's caregivers, Heather, NeeNee, and Audrey.
