Mrs. Shores was born in Rome, Georgia on September 22, 1950, daughter of the late James Edward Adams and the late Georgia Louvenia Adams. She was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Thea Payne and Aurora Shores. Mrs. Shores was an artist and loved all things artistic, especially painting, sewing, embroidery, ceramics. She also enjoyed Jumping Horses, reading, sci-fi movies and shopping.
Survivors include her husband, James Nicholas Shores; a son, James Nicholas Shores, Jr.; grandchildren, Britt Richard James Shores (Ashly), Robert Drake Shores-Roos, Jade Locote Payne (Michael), Morgan Lucius Wells, and James Nicholas Shores, III; great grandchildren, Ever & Taven Shores, Andy Slade & Emory Shores-Roos, and Gideon Payne; her honorary sister, Lynda Holmes.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Bert Brooks will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Footprints on the Heart, P.O. Box 3834 Cartersville, GA 30120, or to Antioch Church of Christ, 323 Antioch Road, Collinsville, AL 35961.
