George Wallace "Wally" Ross

Mr. George Wallace "Wally" Ross, age 72, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at a hospital in Rome, GA.

Mr. Ross was born in Floyd County, GA, on August 5, 1950, son of the late James William Ross, Sr. and the late Faye Inez Hardin Ross. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Elizabeth Lawrence Ross, and by his sister, Martha F. Johnson. Mr. Ross was a graduate of West Rome High School. He was a former co-owner and operator of Safe, Lock and Key until his departure from the family business in 2014. Mr. Ross also was a Captain at the Rome/Floyd Fire Department before his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the "Reflections Car Club."

Survivors include his son, Brian Ross (Diego), Cedartown; a brother, James W. Ross, Jr. (Charmaine), Lindale; sisters-in-law, Norma Gail Topazi, Roswell, and Mitzi Burgess (Jeff), Gardendale, AL; special friend, Jill Daniel, Rome; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, September 30, 2022, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with his son, Brian Ross, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with honors presented by the Rome/Floyd Fire Department Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Pallbearers are to assemble on Friday by 10:30am at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and are as follows: Active, Phillip Schrock, Benji Ross, Steve Allen, Otha Youngblood, Chris Youngblood, as well as member of the Rome/Floyd Fire Department Honor Guard; Honorary, Tommy Helms, Rick Nicholson, Johnny Ross, Doug Allen, Jerry Ross and Ronnie Ross.
