Mary Wright Obituary

Beth Wright, 63, of Siloam Springs, AR passed away at home on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Mary Elizabeth Bradfield Wright was born on October 18, 1959 in Rome, GA. After graduating from Coosa High School (1977), she went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Shorter University (1981) and a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University (2018).

Beth had a long and very successful career in Healthcare Communications, Strategic Marketing, and Business Development which she dearly and deeply loved. She was a gifted speechwriter and storyteller, both skills which served her and the companies she represented to great effect. Beth began work first as a Public Relations intern at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA while still in college. She continued working and advancing for over 40 years, serving at the local community, regional, and corporate executive levels. She worked at HCA, LifePoint Hospitals, Capella Healthcare, and Community Health Systems until her medical leave and discharge. Beth's positive attitude and impact continues to be felt through the many people she worked with and mentored over her long career.

Beth volunteered and actively served throughout her life in a multitude of roles at organizations such as The United Way, Ride for Refuge, End Slavery Tennessee, You Have The Power, Inc., The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and many others.

She was a lifelong member of Toastmasters International where she won several awards at the local, National, and international levels and at Kiwanis International where she served in a variety of roles over many years. She was an active member and volunteer in a local church wherever she resided, especially at First Baptist Church of Rome, GA., Candies Creek Baptist Church in Charleston, TN., Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN. and New Life Church of Siloam Springs, AR. She particularly loved serving in children's ministry and missions; two of her most treasured memories were serving alongside two of her nieces on international mission trips to Haiti and Uganda.

Beth was predeceased by her grandparents, Alvin & Mary Bradfield of West Point, GA. and Raymond and Lucille Holley of Valley, AL. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Marcus David Wright in Siloam Springs, AR., her parents, Claborn & Ann Bradfield of Rome, GA., her sister, Holly Bradfield of Rome, GA., her brother, Jim Bradfield (Carol), of Lagrange, GA., and several nieces and nephews, each of whom were uniquely special to her. She is also survived by extended family including numerous beloved aunts, cousins, and in-laws.

A memorial service will be held in Rome, GA. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at The First Baptist Church of Rome, with visitation outside of the church afterwards. Service time is 1:00 pm EST (12 noon CST).

Beth was someone who was amazingly optimistic at all times. She was a wonderful example of how to live the Christian life and was close to God and thanked Him continually. She was excellent at her work...and always treated people with great respect and care. We will miss her but we know she has fought the good fight and is now in heaven with our Savior where there are no more death or tears...just joy! Chuck

Dear Claborn, Ann, Holly, and Jim,

Gwen Stephens shared with me the news of the passing of Beth. She also shared the medical struggles she had experienced. I'm so very sorry.

You all are in my thoughts, prayers, and heart as you walk through this time of loss. May God and His people give you great comfort. Beth was a wonderful person, so bright, giving, and talented. I remember her and all of you most fondly from my days at FBC.

My husband and I live in Augusta now but I love Rome and FBC always.

May God bless you richly.

In Christian love,
Sue Deaton Stiles

I worked with Beth at Redmond. She always had a smile on her beautiful face and kind words for everyone. Her courage and faith during her struggle with cancer should be an inspiration for all of us. She now has absolute healing.

I’ve known Beth since elementary school, she lived at the end of our street. She was several grades behind me. When she was at Shorter, she joined my sorority and I was lucky enough to be her “big sister “. I really enjoyed reading her posts on Facebook.

Beth...a friend, a role model, a hero, and someone who was without exception a joy to be around. Beth and I worked together at Redmond, were in the same Sunday School class at FBC, were fellow Toastmasters members, so until she was promoted out of Rome our interactions were almost daily. But as much as I enjoyed knowing Beth in those days, to be a witness during her struggle over far too many years with the devastating cancer that eventually claimed her, a whole new level of heroism developed in my eyes and heart. She is truly one of the few people I have ever met that I wished to be more like, and I doubt I am alone. Rest well, dear friend, I love you and my heart goes out to your family and all whose lives you so greatly touched.

What a beautiful person Beth was but more importantly what a GORGEOUS SOUL Beth IS! She is SUCH an Inspiration to so many such as I all the while she was suffering too though you would never know it. I refuse to use Beth in the past tense because I know her Beautiful Soul is with Jesus and has so much to do in Heaven! Love and prayers to All

In May of 1990, I was just a raw recruit in Toastmasters and remember the day I met Beth. It was at the 1990 Spring Conference in Warner Robins, GA. Beth was just elected District Governor. Beth inspired me to advance in the leadership ranks of Toastmasters by her positive example, dedication to Toastmasters, and desire to help others learn, grow, and achieve. Our prayers are with Beth's husband David and her family and may our beloved Beth rest in His eternal peace. - Steve Williams, DTM, Past District 14 (Georgia Toastmasters) Governor, 2004-2005.

The legacy you have left behind is an amazing one and I know the example you've left us will challenge us to live our lives better so that we will reflect His love.
