Albert Kranbuhl Obituary

In Loving Memory

November 30, 1948 ~ September 29, 2025

Albert F. Kranbuhl, Jr. 76, of Camden, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Monday, September 29, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Rome, NY, on November 30, 1948, to the late Albert and Nicholena (Sparace) Kranbuhl. He attended VVS Central Schools and worked at John's Sporting Goods, for many years, retiring from Central New York DDSO after 37 years.

Al had a large love for life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, going on several big game hunting expeditions with his dad. Al loved hunting with his dogs over the years and won several field trial trophies. He loved all his animals and his small hobby farm reflected this.

In his early years, Al enjoyed professional amateur boxing, in local venues, in and around the Rome – Utica area. He also played softball in the Rome Softball leagues. Al loved the holidays, getting together with family and friends and the annual Fourth of July BBQ. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars and tractors.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Larry Kranbuhl; and a grandson, Max Kranbuhl, whom he loved dearly and talked all things tractors with.

Al is survived by the love of his life, for 30 years, Sherry; two sons, Albert (Fred) Kranbuhl, Oneida, NY and Michael (Maureen) Kranbuhl, Laurens, NY; stepchildren, Jody (Jeff) Harrington, Camden, NY and Michael (Shenna) Britton, Camden, NY; two sisters, Louella Mezza, Rome, NY and Debbie Roberts, Richmond, VA; a brother, David Kranbuhl, S. California; grandchildren, Maeve Kranbuhl and Taylor Kranbuhl; step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Harrington, Zackery Harrington, Noah Britton and Lillian Britton - Grandpa Al loved his grandchildren with all his heart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; and Tim Findlay, a very close friend whom Al considered a brother.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the North Bay Fire Department for their help and care in Al's time of need.

A Celebration of Al's Life will be held at a time to be announced.
