1926 ~ 2025
Anne Farraggio Corigliano, 99, of Rome, passed away, peacefully, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, NY, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Rome, NY, on March 23, 1926, daughter of the late John and Philomena Panaresa Farraggio. Anne was educated in Rome Schools. On July 1, 1944, she married Nazare D. Corigliano in St. John the Baptist Church, Rome. He passed away on September 29, 2013. Anne was a waitress at The Greenbriar and Candyland Restaurant. She also worked at Rome Manufacturing and the White Laundry. Anne enjoyed the time she spent working at Staley Jr. High School, Rome, as a Teacher's Aide and was fondly called "Mrs. C." Her last job was at the Rome Developmental Center in the Laundry Department.
Anne also loved volunteering at Rome Developmental Center in the "Grandmother Program." Every family member received at least one of her homemade afghans. She also crocheted many infant hats for the newborns in the Maternity Ward of Rome Hospital. Anne was an active member of the South Rome Senior Center, where she loved to play Bingo and enjoyed going on various bus trips. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Anne was a great cook and baker and her meatballs have yet to be duplicated! Her husband, Nazare, was an avid hunter and she could make any game he brought home taste delicious, while also hosting many game dinners for her family and friends. The family loved her anisette toast cookies and crustellas, especially at Christmastime.
