She also leaves her sister, Marybeth Smith (Jerry); brothers, Joseph (Madeline) Briggs, Richard (Ann) Briggs, all of Utica, Thomas (Joy) Briggs and Timothy (Sinae) Briggs, of Pennsylvania; thirteen nieces and nephews; longtime Utica girlfriends, Melonie Snyder, Linda Rodeo, Ann DeCesare, Carol Ann Cardone and Chrissy Gray; also Paul Rightmier, Mark Nassimos and Frank Grimaldi. For the last 30 plus years, Carrie had resided in Virginia, where she developed long-lasting friendships who were by her side during her illness. A very special thank you to Lee Anne, who provided Carrie with daily care and companionship.

She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Edward, whom she considered her best friend and is now reunited with.
