Holland Patent, NY
Diane M. Vaughn, 71, of Holland Patent and formerly of Rome and Westmoreland. Passed away peacefully at the Eastern Star Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on April 24, 1954, in Oneida a daughter of the late John and June (Smith) Senior. She was educated in Westmoreland Central Schools. On May 6, 1978, at Annunciation Church in Clark Mills she was united in marriage to Lawrence Vaughn.
She was employed with New York State at the Rome DDSO, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
In her free time, she enjoyed Antique shopping and restoration, scavenger shopping for unique and rare jewelry, crocheting, trivia games on television and puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening and family gatherings which brought her immense joy.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence Vaughn, a daughter Amber Smith, a son-in-law, Rick Russell, a son David Vaughn, a daughter-in-law Stacy Vaughn, seven grandchildren, Aiden Smith Ethan Smith, Brennan Smith, Autumn Vaughn, Liam Vaughn, Blake Vaughn, and Luke Vaughn. She also leaves two sisters, Donna Senior, Deborah Boardman, and husband James Boardman, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Babcock, and her husband Gene Babcock. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews not individually listed here all of whom she was immensely proud of and loved dearly.
The family thanks the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany for their care of Diane during her stay. Additionally, the family would like to thank the Holland Patent Hose Co. (Holland Patent Fire Dept.) for their unwavering commitment to meeting the needs of their community.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Leo's & St. Ann Catholic Church 7937 Elm St in Holland Patent with the Rev. John Cannaro officiating. Interment will be in Floyd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday September 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc. 40 Main St. Whitesboro.
