Ian-Anthony Falitico Obituary

Ian-Anthony Falitico, 36 of Rome NY, unexpectedly lost his life due to a massive heart attack at Rome Health with his loving family by his side on May 16, 2024.

He was born on May 30, 1987 in Syracuse, NY to Taraze (Theresa) O'Connell Kerber and John Falitico. Ian was educated in Rome schools and was currently attending Southern New Hampshire University to obtain his BA in Psychology. Ian worked as a DSA with the NYS DDSO for the past 10 years. 6 of those years have been at IRA 6 taking care of his best bud Kenny.

On March 19th, 2017 Ian found his soulmate Felicia Bohning. Together they raised her 3 children as he took on the full-time role of Dad. Ian embraced being a father to Felicia's 3 children with open arms. He provided them with love, guidance, and support, treating them as his own, his unwavering dedication and commitment to their well-being made him an irreplaceable figure in their lives. Being a dad came easy for Ian thanks to the help of his dad Richard Kerber who has loved him unconditionally since the age of 9. In 2021 Ian and Felicia's world changed forever as they completed their family and welcomed their little miracle, Matteo. Ian loved being a dad and would do anything that involved making memories with his family that they will forever cherish. In Ian's small bit of free time, you could see him riding his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, snowboarding, tending to his garden, or listening to Dave Matthews. He always looked forward to attending yearly Dave concerts with his fiancé and best friend Matthew Dombrowski.

Ian was one of a kind, a soft soul, who will be remembered for his sense of humor. He lit up any room when he walked in. His unforgettable laugh and larger than life personality will never be forgotten.

Surviving besides the love of his life and fiancé Felicia Bohning; His parents Taraze (Theresa) & Richard Kerber; four children, Giuseppe Bohning, Emma Maret, Curtis Maret, and Matteo Falitico; two brothers, Nathan Kerber (Jayde) and Logan Kerber (Abby); a sister, Marissa Carollo (Anthony); his favorite uncle Daniel O'Connell and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents John and Marion Falitico; and his maternal grandparents John and Christina O'Connell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 200 N. James St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery. Felicia, I will never forget the day you came to our new house, Fall 2017 just across the street from where we had lived as well as you. You were so excited to have Ian meet "MOM" and I knew the minute I met Ian I was so very happy for the both of you, that special extra six senses I was born with I knew you would be together forever. I watched what a great dad he was to Joey, Emma and little Curt. Life gets so hectic after he left the Voorhee´s IRA we lost ourselves in all our busy lives´ but was able to pop in and out on my way home here and there as well as you helped me out with your Goddaughter Kadeyn. You had a full house everyday with your Day Care Business as well as pre-teen sisters right at the table doing their schoolwork and they weren´t part of your Day Care. I always missed Ian as he as well was working. You both stopped by a few more times and last time you snagged up Kadeyn, took her back to Rome to Rue 21, food on the way back after spoiling her as always, sneaked up the hill to surprise Ian with some food and hugs at the Ira while he was working and back to Rome home without a hiccup. The both of you were always each other´s half. I know it´s going to be hard but he always was your driving force and he will be there each day still in spirit. My heart hurts so much and he will be deeply missed. I´m still here, still momma bear #2, a phone call away, for anything and you know that still today. I missed out on little Matteo but I promise you I will see you soon when everything has settled down. Any help you need, just let me know! I miss you, as you, were one of my kids too and our family still to this day. I´m so sorry. I love you always and forever. So proud of how Ian was there with you and raised an amazing young man with such a bright future after his graduation shortly, your first born. Ian will be right there cheering him on as well.
