Olga Caruso Obituary
She was born on October 5, 1952, in Utica, the daughter of the late Ivan and Maria Kifiak Dybacz. She was educated in Utica Schools and received her Teacher's Assistant Certificate and Associate's Degree in Human Services from MVCC. In 1972, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, she married Anthony L. Caruso. For 31 years, Olga worked, as a Teacher's Assistant, with Oneida County BOCES, retiring in 2013 and continuing to work as a substitute, part time since.
Olga loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved dancing to Latin music as a member of local dance clubs and summering at her family camp, "her happy place", in Swan Bay, on the St. Lawrence River.
Olga is survived by her husband, of 52 years, Tony; two sons, Anthony (Kristen DiGiorgio) Caruso, of Deerfield and Daniel (Kristine) Caruso, of Whitesboro; three grandchildren, Taylor, Katie and Matthew; and two brothers, John (Marlene) Dybacz and Roman (Carol) Dybacz, both of North Utica.
Services will be on Wednesday, March 27 at 1 p.m. at the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, with Rev. Thomas Servatius officiating. A calling hour will be held from 12 – 1 p.m., prior to the service.
