Peter Joseph Fusco Sr.

Peter Joseph Fusco, 76, of Albany, NY, passed away, surrounded by his children, on November 11, 2025, in the MUSC Hospital, Charleston, SC.

Born in Utica, on March 20, 1949, to Michael and Ellen (Flemma) Fusco, Peter graduated from Notre Dame High School, Utica and then earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from SUNY College - Potsdam. He went on to SUNY Albany, where he earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Peter then began a career in teaching at UFA, Utica, NY. After teaching, Peter started a career in Public Administration, working for American Veteran Enterprise Team where he brokered procurement and logistics for government contracts.

Peter lived life to the fullest. He lived for his family. Peter maintained his love of music and was known as a good singer and musician. He will be remembered by his extended family and his many friends for his competitive nature, his wise counsel, his inexhaustible love of learning, his energy and his genuine love of life. Peter brightened all gatherings, large and small, with his wit, humor and cordiality. He was also an excellent parent, helping to produce three remarkable children who are a credit to their family with their success. Peter was also a devout and proud Catholic. He was active in community service, notably with the "Lunch Bunch", delivering meals to those in need.

Surviving are his three children, Paula Fusco (Michael) Ragaini, Peter (Stacey) Fusco, Jr. and Carlo (Christa) Fusco. He is also survived by grandchildren, Michael V. Ragaini, Nicholas E. Ragaini, Daniel J. Ragaini, Peter J. Fusco III, Gabriel J. Fusco, Capriana A, Fusco, Arlo J. Fusco, Charles A. Fusco and Parker A. Fusco; brother, Ralph W. Fusco, Esq. (Danyse); sisters, Margaret Nasto (Michael), Mary Ellen Gessick (Tom) and Laura Hogan (Peter); and sister-in-law, Antonia Fusco

He was predeceased by his parents; and older brother, Michael.

The family would also like to extend their love and gratitude to Jason Ambrosino, for his unwavering support of Peter and who Peter loved like family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11 a.m., from Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Lady of Lourdes Campus), 2222 Genesee St., Utica. Family will greet guests at the conclusion of Mass. Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Our Lady of Lourdes Parish), 2222 Genesee St., Utica, NY. Envelopes will be available at the service.
