Raymond Abel Obituary
Raymond M. Abel, Sr., 75, of Rome, passed away on Friday October 25, 2024, at Rome Health. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on July 26, 1949, son of the late Herbert and Mildred Wooden Abel. Ray was educated in Rome schools and also served his country in the United States Army. On June 1, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ann Marie Venditti at St John the Baptist Church in Rome, N.Y. Ray was employed at Rome Lab, retiring in 2008.
Surviving is his loving wife, Ann Marie, his precious daughter April Abel Pauba and son-in-law, John Pauba, Jr.; two wonderful sons, Mark Abel and Raymond Abel Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Tracey; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Tanner Abel that he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Mildred Abel.
Ray loved his children's dogs; Buddy and Bella. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Ray really was our world and he will be dearly missed.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses at Rome Health ICU, as well as the staff at the Roswell Cancer Center in Oneida, for their wonderful care of Ray.
There are no services or calling hours.
