Rebecca Cousin Obituary
She was born in Utica, NY, on March 19, 1969, a daughter of John and Trudy (Lemire) Zolandz. She was raised and educated in Oriskany and graduated from Oriskany High School, where she was a cheerleader. She continued her education at Utica College, where she was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Economic Crime Investigation. She later attended Herkimer County Community College to become an LPN. On April 8, 2005, she married Eric P. Cousin. The couple shared in a union of over twenty years. At one time, she held a position at St. Luke's Hospital as an LPN. She lastly worked at Central New York Cardiology.
Rebecca had a passion for cooking and baking. She loved the outdoors and was an avid animal lover. Her family was the center of her life and her favorite times were spent with family and friends at her camp in the Thousand Islands.
She is survived by her husband, Eric; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lindsey and Gary Rende, Jr., of Ilion and Erica and Andrew Webb, of Deansboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Ashley Cousin, of Rome; her parents, John and Trudy Zolandz; four grandchildren, Vincent ""Vinny"" Rende, Olivia Rende, Sawyer Webb and Charlotte Webb; a sister, Nicolle Zolandz, of New York Mills; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and in-laws; and a special friend, Maria ""Ree"" Gerrer.
She was preceded in death by a son, Karl M. Cousin on July 26, 2022.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, 4-6 p.m., at the Wolanin Funeral Home, 266 Main St., New York Mills.
In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 NY-5S, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
