Robert Butler Obituary

Robert (Bob) Clayton Butler of New Jersey, formerly of Oneida, NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Peggy Butler of Oneida. He attended and graduated from Oneida High School in 1973, where he played Varsity Football. He graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ceramic Engineering. He accepted a position with CertainTeed Corporation, where he was employed for 45 years. He became a Plant Manager and continued his career in Kansas, California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. His experience and expertise qualified him to be an expert consultant in production facilities and was continually called upon to travel the world to resolve problems for his company. He was a phenomenal golfer and would have liked to own a golf course one day. He was a loving son, and a brother to Stephen (Steve) Butler of North Carolina and Richard (Rick) Butler of Oneida. He also had several nieces and nephews. He had a good sense of humor and was very kind and generous to those he cared for. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services, but a mass of remembrance will be said at St. Joseph's Church in Oneida on Wednesday, February 15th, at 8:30 AM. Interment will be in the spring at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Fairview Avenue in Oneida.

I will always remember Bob as a great boss and mentor. He welcomed my wife and me when we came to the US for a 4 year assignment, made us feel at home.
He always gave me room to grow and find my own ways, backing me up all the time.
I especially appreciated his honesty and candor.

My husband will be missed by many. We would have celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this April 4th.
He enjoyed playing golf, going to the movies, Sunday breakfasts at the local diner, Game Night, building Lego projects, Godzilla and traveling to Marco Island and Hilton Head. He was so very kind and loving to my twin daughters. They loved him very much as well. =

est in Peace, my dear.
