Ronald Akers Obituary

Ronald D. Akers, 75, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was born in Kentucky on September 20, 1950. Ron served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was always known as a Harley Davidson man and loved to ride his Harley.

Ron is survived by two daughters, Michelle Beck (Jason) and Karrie Guck (William); his caregiver and former wife, Tina Akers, and her children Michael Burgess (Corrie) and Heather Dunderman (Austin); his "second family," Jasper and Joan Westcott and family; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Ron's family would like to thank all of his wonderful friends for all of their love and support.

In keeping with Ron's wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.

Ronnie Dean is my brother. He was the son of Oscar Akers and Stella Kendrick Akers Anderson both deceased. He has 6 siblings Junior Johnson, Harsel Akers, Charles Akers, Mark Akers, Virgie Ercolamento(deceased), and myself Mollie Davenport. Many nieces and nephews. Although we did not stay in close contact he was my brother and will be missed!
