Steven Stooks Obituary

BOONVILLE – Steven Douglas Stooks, 64, a resident of Kortenaer Village, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

He was born in New Hartford, NY, on December 4, 1959, a son of George and Matilda Brown Stooks. He grew up in Holland Patent area, graduating from Holland Patent Central School in the class of 1978.

Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1979 to 1983. He had an interest in electronics and was employed in the field of electronic communications for several years. He enjoyed many great times with his family at their camp at White Lake, boating, fishing, and hunting. Steven also enjoyed going to the Pirates Weekend in Alex Bay, an event he looked forward to every year.

Surviving are his stepmother, Geraldine Stooks, Boonville; siblings, Martha Wetzler, Canastota, Ellen and Bob Ross, Orlando, FL, Ann and Bill Mason, Costa Mesa, CA, Joe and Cindy Gerrard, West Leyden, George Stooks Jr., Honeyoe, NY, Jody and Cal Southwick, Ilion, Jean Cox, Holland Patent, Jennifer O'Brien, Grand Island, NY, Judy and Dave Hoffman, Central Square, and Mary Stark, Floyd; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers-in- law, Kevin O'Brien, John Stark and Warner Cox.
