Ty'Sean Richardson Obituary

Ty'Sean "Ty" E. Richardson, age 20, of Rome, passed away on December 8, 2022.

Ty was born in New Hartford on June 27, 2002 to Damian and Gina Richardson Wilson, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 2020. He was currently employed by McDonald's.

Ty was an avid gamer and was a fan of the Marvel and DC series. He had the ability to be the light to someone's darkness and was the epitome of a true friend. He loved his family and friends and was always there for them, whether it was to help or just being someone to talk with. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him but his spirit and joy will live on in all of their hearts.

Ty is survived by his mother, Gina; his sisters, Madison Richardson, and Jordyn Schultz; his brothers, Jesse Richardson, and Damian Wilson; his maternal grandparents, Michael Richardson, and Molly (Billy) Roberson; his paternal grandfather, Robert (Yvette) Lee; and several aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father in 2018.

A Celebration of Ty's Life will be held on Saturday, December 17, at 3 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 PM prior to the Celebration.

As a way to honor Ty, funeral attire can consist of a black t-shirt, blue or black jeans, and/or painting your nails black.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the GoFundMe page that has been established at: https://gofund.me/a1d9498c.

One of Ty's life goals was to be a superhero. Through his final act of organ donation, he was able to help several people and fulfill his dream.

Loved his friends and family.

Hello. I met TySean when he was a youngster. I worked with his mom where he and his sister and bother were the epitome of his grandmother, Molly's life. She loved her grandchildren as her owned and was always proud of mom, Molly for what she did, always working hard, to help make her children's lives the best. TySean had a wonderful family and I know what a great loss it is for everyone who knew TySean. What a polite, handsome young man he grew to be and should be proud of by his family and every one who knew him. Love you Molly and Gina. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Linda Cavanaugh

I recently met this young man at McDonald's. I told him that I really appreciated his great customer service and positive attitude. We don't know why God calls some people to heaven so early but He has a plan for each of our lives. None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow so we need to appreciate each day that we have with our loved ones. May Ty rest in peace.
