BETTY JANE SCHEIDEGGER, 80 ROCKFORD - Betty Jane Scheidegger, 80, of Rockford died at 7:44 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Carl A. and Geraldine Evelyn Bonner Gunderson. Married Paul Owen Scheidegger on April 3, 1948, in Rockford; he preceded her in death, along with her parents. She formerly worked as a secretary at Amerock Corp. Graduate of East High School. Member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Survivors include her daughters, Jody (Gary) Banks of Edinburg, Va., and Sandra (Eric) Stephens of Miami, Fla.; her son, Michael (Kim) Scheidegger of Machesney Park; and grandchildren, Stephen Banks, Benjamin Stephens, Emily Stephens, Kasey Scheidegger and Sophie Scheidegger. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the upper sanctuary of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time; Pastor Lee Laaveg will officiate.
