Charlotte Lorio Obituary
BYRON – Charlotte Delores Lorio, age 71, of Byron and formerly of Chicago passed away peacefully Friday October 4, 2019 surrounded by family. Born in Chicago on April 20, 1948 to Mike Nicholas & Dolores Mary Zihala (Prysmiki). A devote Catholic, Charlotte worked as a teacher in Chicago for many years. She loved the many activities such as cards, crafts and Bingo with the company of her friends at Generations at Neighbors. She enjoyed decorating & celebrating every holiday and always found time to keep up on her favorite TV programs. Most of all Charlotte cherished the times spent with her grandsons, her pride and joy. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend; she will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (fiance Jeff Parker) Lorio, step-children, Thomas, Cindy and Scott Lorio; grandchildren, Devin Lorio & Thomas Parker; brothers Michael & Larry Zihala; nieces & nephews, Dawn (Larry) Russell and Richard (Sandy) Zihala; great nieces & nephews, Samantha, Bradley, Nathan & Kylee; sister-in-law, Rose Zihala; dear friends, Mary (Hollis) Bosley, Cookie (Rick), Laura and Lavonne Thomas . She is predeceased by her husband, Samuel Lorio, son, David Lorio, dear friend, Lucille Lesniewski; and her parents.
Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday October 19, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Generations at Neighbors, 811 W 2nd St, Byron, with visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of services at 11:30 AM. Reception to follow. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family. www.rockfordfunerals.com
