Clayton Lofquist Obituary

CLAYTON L. LOFQUIST, 60 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDPA AND "BOOBOO" BELVIDERE - Clayton L. Lofquist, 60, of Belvidere passed away at home after a short illness with his family by his side. Born in Webster, S.D., to Walter and Irene (Forsberg) Lofquist on Dec. 28, 1948. Married Zdena Mathis; they were married 38 years May 1. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army in Cam-Rah Bay, Vietnam. Clayton enjoyed woodworking, polishing his truck and spending time with his friends and large family. He was also a big Bears and NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife, Zdena; sons, Sasha (Angie) and Matthew, both of Belvidere; grandsons, Austin, Gavin and Logan; brothers, Gerald (Mary), Harlan (Hildegard) and Mark (Rebecca); sisters, Sharon (Robert) Nuss, Barbara (Bradley) Ross, Juliane (Jeff) Birch; and sister-in-law, Patricia Lofquist. Predeceased by his parents; and brother, Ronald. Service will be at noon Tuesday, May 19, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere. For online condolences, visit honquestfh.com.

Dear Zdena and boys,I found out after the fact and was sad to have missed this. Clayton aka Guber, was a great friend to my husband Jim Henderson,aka Lizard. I so remember the cold rides in November on the motorcycles down to the Mr. Donut on E State !! Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Lot's of history between us all. Good wishes from Kip and Justin also.God bless you all.
