Craig Bergstrom

CRAIG W. BERGSTROM, 79 BELVIDERE - Craig W. Bergstrom, 79, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013, at home. He was born October 28, 1934; the son of the late Roy and Mildred (Abel) Bergstrom. He was a 1952 graduate of Rockford East High School. Craig had attended Michigan State University and had served in the U.S. Navy. He had worked in the banking industry for most of his life. He enjoyed playing cards, reading and watching old classic movies, especially westerns and those with John Wayne. He is survived by five daughters, Cynthia (Rick) Handel of Rockford, Therese Pollock of Longmont, CO, Kathleen (Doug) Wiggin of Austin, TX, Susan (Dan) Zefeldt of River Grove, IL, and Mary Bergstrom of Seattle, WA; and nine grandchildren, Lawrence, Lucas, Stuart, Alexander, Eric, Dylan, Michael, Daniel, and Jessica. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gerri. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2013, at the Belvidere Funeral Home. There will be a one hour visitation before the service beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society by going to www.cancer.org.
