Daniel Schumacher Obituary

DANIEL 'SHOE' m. SCHUMACHER, 27 ROCKFORD - Daniel M. Schumacher, 27, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011. Born Aug. 26, 1983, in Rockford, the son of Connie Schumacher and Marlowe Schumacher. Engaged to Laura Houston. Graduate of Belvidere High School, Class of 2001 and attended NIU. Dan worked as an IT specialist at both OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and Kerry Inc. Dan played tennis, golf and baseball for Belvidere High School. He had many years of enjoyment playing little league (BYB) baseball and boasted his nickname, Rocket, for his pitching arm. Dan was a loyal fan of the Bears and Cubs. He also loved music; some of his favorite artists were Eminem, Tim McGraw, and Brad Paisley. Dan was a devoted uncle, he cherished his family and friends and continues to be an inspiration to all who love him. Survived by mother, Connie of Rockford; father, Marlowe (Barb Trank) of Loves Park; sister, Carissa (Tony) Williams of Rockford; brother, Mitchell (Kate Brondyke) of Galena; niece, Emerson Williams; nephew, Mason Williams; paternal grandmother, Rita Schumacher of Caledonia; maternal grandmother, Anita Lynch of Machesney Park; aunts, Debbie Lynch of Machesney Park, Marcia (Corky) Adams of Caledonia, Sherry (Dave) Guzzardo of Roscoe and Connie (Mark) Jacobs of Caledonia; special aunt, Gladys Carlson; "his boys," cats, Cubbie and Lucky. Predeceased by grandfathers, Roger "Pa" Lynch and Dale Schumacher. Service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, in the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. Friday to time of service. Dear Family....
I am so saddened to hear about Danny's passing.I remember how Carissa, Mitch, and Danny just loved our Dixie.Patrick just told us...we will be praying for all of you. I remember how excited he was when he was going off to NIU.He was a great kid and I am glad we were able to share in his earlier life.You are in our hearts and prayers...

Dear Connie, Marlowe, Carissa, Mitchell-

I was so sorry to hear about Dan. I remember how much fun my brother Clif and I had coaching Dan in BYB baseball. It was actually Clif who gave Dan the "Rocket" nickname. Dan was always the nicest, well mannered boy and we enjoyed that great grin he had, you could tell he was having fun. Julie and I always enjoyed having Dan spend the night at our house. Dan was always our favorite of Michael’s friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
