Hello David,
I've been thinking of you a lot lately and wanted you to know how you are truly missed. Everyday that goes by, I have beautiful thoughts of you. Thank God for those precious memories of our years we had together. We always found something to laugh and smile about. But, it was you who had that special laugh and smile that brought sunshine to any room you were in. God gave you that gift, and I was fortunate to have been that recipient. I'll always love you.
Loved you then, Love you still, I promise you now - I always will. Forever, Raini

Dearest David,
I continue to miss you with all my heart. I wish you were here to enjoy Cortney's baby boy and now Emily has had a boy too. They are both so handsome. There are some issues with the nation, concerning an awful virus that has no solid cure. I'm trying to be careful, as President Trump has advised us all to stay in small groups, no more than 10 people in a gathering. Anyway, it's a little scary, but we will get through this. We will prevail. Always know, my beloved David, you are in my heart. I love you forever and a day.

Hello Sweetheart,
I'm still hanging in there, missing your beautiful face and US. It doesn't seem like a year has gone by. It still seems like a couple of months since you've been gone. I graduated with honors and received my Associates in Liberal Arts Degree on May 17, 2019. I'm going to finish the Associate in Science this year. You are with me always, and I wouldn't be able to go on with this education, had it not been for your inspiring encouragement and your love. I will continue to come to this book and share some things.
I loved you then, I love you still, I love you today and always will.

Hello David,
I just wanted to write and let you know that I am starting the 2 math classes this week. Hopefully, the classes will go well. I will report back to this book and keep you informed, as to how well I'm doing. I love you and miss you soooooo very much! I wish you were here by my side. But, always know, you are in my heart.
Love You Always,
Raini
PS: I ordered the ring you were going to buy me, and I received it in the mail yesterday. It is beautiful. It is actually 3 rings, with the words inscribed with "I loved you then," "I love you still," "I always have, I always will." This is exactly how I feel, and I'm going to buy a pretty chain, so that I can put the rings on the chain. I'm not able to wear the rings while I'm working, and in this way, they will be closer to my heart. I think that's absolutely perfect!

Dear David,
There was a little hurdle getting through our 30th wedding anniversary, on May 14, but I got through it. I miss you sooooo very much. I look at things that made us laugh together. I look at your favorite movies. I look at some of your clothes. I think of the times we did things that were special to the both of us. I decided to write in this book to help get me through some rough times. Thanksgiving Day has passed, and we usually spent that time with Bobby and his family. But, I'll remember the time we went horse back riding on Thanksgiving Day. I told you that I had never ridden a horse, so you made that happen. However, we both laughed so much about how sore I was from the ride. I had a hard time walking the next day. I'm really glad we went though. It just added to the list of things we shared together. I'm going to end this with letting you know that I love you and always will. I will return to this book soon and write you another note. Always know you are in my heart.
Love You Always,
Raini

I must have been about 6 or 7, and we were at Cedar Point. Dad was in a hurry to leave, and I couldn't keep up. So, he had me hold onto his back pocket. Keeping up was easier, until I tripped and ripped his pocket off his pants.
I love you Dad,
Cortney

I remember riding on the back of Dad's scooter with him to go to his favorite Chinese restauant, Happy Wok, to pck up our To-Go order. And of course they knew what he wanted before he even said anything.

I remember Dave's personality and humor.
He and I hit it off right away. Dave urged me to go ice fishing up at Derek's, and boy, did we have a great time. It was everything he said it was. Good Fishing, Food, and Fellowship.
I will truly miss my friend Dave and will always remember the good times we had.

One time Grandpa and Grandma visited me at School in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We visited a Candy Shop, the Bluff, and the Dahl Auto Museum. Grandpa asked me what I was planning to do with a degree in art. I honestly had no idea, and I was afraid he was going to tease me. Instead, he told me I could do whatever I wanted. He meant it. Not many people believe in being successful with an art degree, but Grandpa did. I will never forget that moment... or day.

The old boy had a passion for technology. He was always trying something new. (Sometimes not to a good end). "GPS" was a new thing when I rode up to Derik's place. I'm watching the screen, when we came across a new interchange. It showed us in the middle of a field, and I shouted, "Watch Out! The screen shows you're about to hit a deer!!" We laughed. I was with him on almost all our fishing expeditins. He was a great member and an awesome friend. He will always be with me and remembered as long as I live.

David (As well as David) was so generous to Pat and I for our wedding day. He and Donna filmed and took pictures of our entire occation.
It was done as (He did everything he enjoyed)like a pro.

When we lived in Big Rapids, MI, we were given a pulley and rope. We got a large trash can and made a way to get the kids from my two story bedroom window to the backyard. One day we were playing with our invention, when Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Joe came for a visit. When they walked into the backyard, they were just in time to see David and Dennis roll out of the trash can onto the ground. The boys were laughing.... but Aunt Jeannie made us take it down. Good thing she didn't see us put Doug and Sheryl in it.... Doug was an infant!

When I walk through your front door I look over at your chair in anticipation to see you...but you're not there. I still can't believe you're gone. You weren't supposed to leave us so soon. It was one of the best and worst days of my life.
One of the best because I knew my pops had been released from all of his pain and suffering, but it was one of the worst because I knew I had just lost one of my best friends. It seems like just yesterday we were planning the next fishing trip, car show, or movie we wanted to see. I really expected you to pull through and fight your way out of the hospital, like you had done before, but this was the one fight you couldn't win. I know you're no longer suffering and no longer in pain, but my selfishness keeps getting the better of me. In my heart I've lost
my dad twice. I'll have to remind myself of all the good times we had. Throughout the years you helped smooth out some of my rough edges. I appreciate all the knowledge, wisdom, and lessons you were able to share with me, whether directly or inadvertently. You will always be missed, but never forgotten. Don't you forget about me! I love you pops.

Nobody can ever take away the memories I have of you. I've been so blessed that you chose me to be your wife, and we had almost 30 beautiful years together. We made each other laugh and truly loved each other. You were my best friend and always will be.

I remember our first date. We went to the North Town Theatre in Rockford, Illinois and saw the movie, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." It was a great movie, but what made it even more funny, was the fact that David and I were the only ones in the theatre to watch the movie. At first I had thought David had it arranged that we see the movie by ourselves. It was hillarious! We laughed about that in the years to come.

I will think of you often! Everytime I change a tire I will think of you Grandpa! You took the time to teach me how to change my first flat tire so I would be able to do things myself and I never really got to show you how much I appreciated it! I will pass this on to my son when he is old enough! I love you and miss you so much Grandpa; your memory will be in my heart forever!

Tribute To David
No other man has made me feel,
Quite the way you do.
No other man has been more real,
Until there was you.
You came into my heart,
With a love that rang so true,
And now I know we have to part,
I wish it wasn't this soon.
I'm not going to say goodbye,
I don't see you as gone,
You're in the face and in the eye,
Of all our children.
And as I celebrate your life,
I'll think of yesterday,
Almost 30 years, as your wife,
Savoring each memory.
Love,
Raini

David
A great friend !
He always spoke in the most glowing terms of how much his family meant to him.
David was an inspiration to me. I admired all those wonderful qualities that made him the special person that he was. He had intelligence, wit, charm and a caring heart that made him a great friend.
I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know him better and to call him my friend. I will cherish his memory for years to come.
He was a wonderful man and he was a great friend as well, he is the man who gave me my first cell.
I will never forget all that he did for me.
I never heard an ill word spoken of him. He was kind, compassionate and a true gentleman. Sadly there are few people like that in the world today.
I could never repay all that he did for me, but I would at least like to do what little I can and in doing so, honor his memory.

I have many fond memories of David and Donna. David even paid $1 to dance with me during the dollar dance at my wedding. I believe I even have a picture of me in a tux dancing with him in a suit.
