DORIS J. DIMKE, 91 ROCKFORD - Doris J. Dimke, 91, of Rockford died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in her home. Born Aug. 18, 1921, in Fort Wayne, Ind.; the daughter of Henry and Ella (Tuerschman) Buschman. She married Donald V. Dimke on Jan. 10, 1947, in Fort Wayne; he predeceased her Dec. 8, 1998, in Rockford. Doris worked for G.E., Bowser of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ginders Ambulance Services, and SwedishAmerican Hospital Gift Shop. She retired at age 75. Former member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she participated in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered for many agencies including RSVP, Blind Center, Muscular Dystrophy, United Way, Wesley Willows, and SwedishAmerican Hospital. She also volunteered at the Rookery Bay Nature Center of Naples, Fla., and other various flower shops in Florida and Elizabethan Garden, N.C. She is survived by children, Diane Hendry of Dunkirk, Md., Steven Dimke of Rockford, Gail (Wayne) McMahon of Rockford, and Jill (Carl) Slowiak of Colfax, Wis.; grandchildren, Tara, Michele, Matthew, Adam, Alan and Brieann; great-grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Asher, Ethan, Jesse, Aidan, Tyler and Curtis; brother, Ned (Connie) Buschman of Naples, Fla.; and sister, Janice Straley of Salem, Ind. Predeceased by great-granddaughter, Alyssa Fenton; brother, Bob Buschman; and sister, Jewel Ray. Memorial visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., led by Pastor Dale Johnson.
