EDDIE BLISS, 80 DURAND - Eddie Bliss, 80, Durand, IL. died at 1:49 a.m., Sunday, November 29, 2015 in The Atrium after a lengthy illness. Born September 23, 1935 in Rockford, IL. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. and Gladys (Ziegler) Bliss. Graduated from Durand High School and Rockford Business College. He was employed as an accountant by Greenlee Textron for 30 years. He was a member of the Durand Masonic Lodge #3302 and Valley of Freeport Scottish Rite Mason, 32nd Degree. He enjoyed crossword puzzles. Survivors include grandson Jake Bliss, Colorado; twin brother Fred (Paula) Bliss; brother Denny (Marlene) Bliss and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Scott. Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 Main Street, Durand, IL. with Pastor Brian Channel of Durand United Methodist Church officiating. Private burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Durand Fire/Ambulance District #1, PO Box 185, Durand, IL 61024.
