Edna Wilcox Obituary
Edna M. Wilcox, 100, of Richland Center, WI died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. She was born March 7, 1916, in Willow Lake, South Dakota; the daughter of Ray and Bonnie (Merril) Bonebrake. On August 1, 1934, Edna married Wayne Wilcox in South Dakota and to this union two children were born, Sandra (Robert) Shaw and Robert (Rosemary) Wilcox. Edna lived in Belvidere, Illinois and she worked at the Belvidere Daily Republican and Grimm Nash Coleman Insurance Agency. She and Wayne moved to Richland Center where she worked for Rural Insurance Company for many years. Edna was the matriarch of the family, although being sassy and making everyone obey she was loved by all. Edna celebrated her 100th birthday at Schmitt Woodland Hills surrounded by family and friends. Edna is survived by her daughter, Sandra Shaw; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Wilcox; grandchildren, Teri (Ted) Klint, Julie Shaw-James, Robert Wilcox, Jr. (Jackie), Wayne (Rhonda) Wilcox, James (Michelle) Wilcox, Michael (Erica) Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Michael Anderson (Jessica), Jennifer (Todd) Rowland, Amber Wilcox, Angela Wilcox, Andrew Wilcox, Whitney Wilcox, Mandy Wilcox, Ray Wilcox, Brooklyn (James) Morris, Brandon Wilcox, Courtney Wilcox, Michaela Wilcox, Austin Wilcox; 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Robert Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Brittany Shaw-James; son-in-law, Robert Shaw. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Schmitt Woodland Hills, AGrace Hospice, Pastor Barbara S. Miller and Philomena Poole for the loving care and attention they provided.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at the Highland Garden of Memories Chapel in Belvidere, Illinois, with burial to follow in the Highland Garden of Memories Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service of Richland Center, Wisconsin is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
