ELSIE LORRAINE 'TOOTS' RICHOLSON, 71 DAVIS JUNCTION - Elsie Lorraine "Toots" Richolson, 71, died suddenly Sunday March 4, 2012, at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. Born Jan. 11, 1941, in Rockton, the daughter of Sigfrid and Elsie (Schroder) Peterson. She graduated from East High School in Rockford, Class of 1959. Elsie married Loren Richolson on July 17, 1959, in the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley. She currently worked as an insurance agent for Miller Insurance Agency in Rochelle. She was also employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Country Companies. Elsie was involved in many organizations. She was secretary of the Fields Project in Oregon, member of the Eastern Star, Klipper Club, Card Club, past president of Ogle County Trail Riders, and a school bus driver. Elsie was also a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley where she served on the church board. She also enjoyed helping her husband work on the farm, riding horses and spending time with her grandchildren. Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Loren Richolson of Davis Junction; children, Connie (Philip) Erdman of San Jose, Calif., Bradley (Julie) Richolson of Lindenwood and Valerie Richolson of Byron; grandchildren, Stefanie Erdman, Josh and Jack Richolson, and Kaitlin and Grant Watson; sisters, Viola Grenon of Byron and Ruth Earlywine of Loves Park. Predeceased by her parents and brothers, Ray, John and Carl Peterson. Service at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley, with Pastor Chris Brauns officiating. Burial in Stillman Valley Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, Stillman Valley. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the Fields Project, Stillman Valley Fire Protection Dist., Lyn Scott Rock Fire Department, Stillman Valley Cemetery or the Congregational Christian Church. Sorry for your loss. I've good memories of visiting the farm as a kid, getting to ride horses,checking out the pigs, and hitching the big toboggan to a tractor. Big stuff for a city kid. And your mother was sure a nice person. Peace to her memory.
