Helmuth,
We are sorry to hear about your father! I am so sorry we couldn't make it to the wake. Our clan will say a prayer for you and your family. Although we didn't know your father personally, I know he was an unspoken and unwavering constant in your life. May his German spirit live on in your accordian tunes!

Eli and family,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Erich playing the accordian when I was in the dance group. May the good memories sustain you in this difficult time.

My Uncle Erich Redschlag has left this world... now my questions will never receive the answers ...his voice has been stilled...maybe he will clarify or explain them in my dreams. As a young man he sang this song "There was a king in Thule, true unto his grave, while dying to his beloved a golden goblet gave ". I drank the wine from the goblet in Germany and in the USA. The stories, the songs, and his accordion playing will forever echo in the valleys of my mind. When the family gathers again and sings his songs you too will hear in the melody the echo of his voice
